ShopSynq FAQ

Last updated:

ShopSynq is one operating system for Indian sellers—online store, billing, inventory, offers, and customer follow-ups—plus AI on what needs attention. Boutiques are an example niche; it is built for every kind of seller. Marketplaces such as Amazon, Flipkart, and Meesho are under development.

Short definitions

  • One OS / operating system — One shared place for products, stock, store orders, and shop bills so you are not retyping the same catalogue in three apps.
  • Storefront — Your browse → cart → checkout site where customers pick options, pay, and leave an order record—not only a chat thread or price-list link.
  • Shop billing / POS-style billing — Counter or walk-in bills (GST-aware fields where you configure them) from the same product and stock list as the online store.
  • What needs attention (insights) — A short list of operational signals—low stock, pending orders, follow-ups—plus suggestions to review; not autopilot or guaranteed growth.
  • Meta catalogue sync — Keeping product data aligned with Meta/Facebook catalogue tools where the product supports it, so ads and social listings stay closer to what you sell.
  • WhatsApp automation — Product-supported templates and notifications where ShopSynq offers them. WhatsApp stays the chat layer; ShopSynq is not a Meta BSP replacement.

Frequently asked questions

What is ShopSynq?
ShopSynq is an ecommerce and retail management platform for Indian sellers: one operating system for online store, shop billing, inventory, offers, and customer follow-ups, with AI insights on what needs attention. It helps you organise day-to-day commerce—not promise new buyers. Boutiques and Instagram shops are common examples, but the product is built for every kind of seller who needs store plus ops in one place.
Who is ShopSynq for?
ShopSynq is for sellers across industries in India—retail, fashion, food, services, social sellers, and more—who want to sell online and manage counter bills and stock from one system. Boutiques are a familiar niche, not the only fit. If you still run products in one app, bills in another, and chats elsewhere, you are the audience for a shared OS.
Is ShopSynq only a website builder?
No. A storefront is one part of ShopSynq. The same system is meant to cover shop billing, shared inventory, offers, follow-ups, and attention insights. Pure website builders stop at the site; ShopSynq aims at store plus day-to-day Indian shop operations. See the one-system store and billing guide for how that split works in practice.
How is ShopSynq different from Shopify or Dukaan?
Shopify and Dukaan are strong storefront-led platforms. ShopSynq positions as store plus Indian shop billing, shared stock, offers, follow-ups, and AI on what needs attention in one product. Neither side guarantees sales; apps and payment providers add cost where you connect them. Read the Shopify vs ShopSynq and Dukaan alternatives guides for fair, qualitative comparisons—and check current pricing pages.
How is ShopSynq different from Vyapar, MyBillBook or Zoho?
Billing apps excel at invoices and day-to-day bills. Many also offer a free “online store” link that is often more catalogue than full checkout. ShopSynq aims at a real storefront plus shared stock and billing in one OS. Billing tools remain excellent for accounts habits—compare on current vendor pages. See the free store vs real storefront guide for the decision frame.
What does “one operating system for your business” mean?
It means products, stock, online orders, and counter bills share one catalogue and one inventory count—so you are not retyping SKUs or reconciling three lists at night. Offers and follow-ups sit on the same customer and order history. It does not mean ShopSynq replaces WhatsApp chat or your accountant. The one-system guide walks through the double-entry problem this solves.
What is “what needs attention” / AI insights?
Insights surface what is going on in the business and what needs attention—low stock, pending orders, follow-ups—plus suggestions to review for today. They sit on top of store, bills, and stock. They are not a promise of revenue, perfect forecasts, or that AI will run the shop. See the AI business insights guide for the three-question framing sellers actually use.
Will AI run my shop automatically or change prices by itself?
No. ShopSynq’s insight layer is for attention and suggestions you review—not autopilot that changes prices, buys stock, or replies to customers without you. You stay in control of catalogue, pricing, and fulfilment. Treat suggestions as a checklist, not a guarantee. The AI insights guide states the same limits clearly.
Can I sell on Instagram and still use ShopSynq?
Yes. Keep Instagram for discovery—Reels, Stories, DMs—and send buyers to your own ShopSynq storefront for browse, options, checkout, and an order record. ShopSynq does not replace Instagram. The Instagram to own store guide covers when DM-only selling breaks and how to hand off to checkout without quitting social.
Can I sell on WhatsApp with ShopSynq?
Yes. WhatsApp stays complementary chat for discovery and questions. Use ShopSynq for catalogue clarity via store links, checkout, order records, billing, and stock. ShopSynq does not replace WhatsApp. See how to sell on WhatsApp in India for catalog → payment → invoice habits alongside a store checkout link.
Do I need WhatsApp Business API to use ShopSynq?
No. Many sellers use the WhatsApp Business App for chat and send ShopSynq store links for checkout. Cloud API (usually via a BSP) is for shared inboxes or approved templates at scale—not a ShopSynq requirement. ShopSynq is not a Meta BSP. Read the WhatsApp App vs API and Coexistence guide before you upgrade messaging for status alone.
What is WhatsApp Coexistence in plain language?
Coexistence is Meta’s path to keep using the WhatsApp Business App while connecting Cloud API capabilities on related setups. Catalog and order tools may stay App-side and not fully match an API inbox—verify on Meta’s current docs and test before you cut over. The WhatsApp App vs API Coexistence guide summarises this carefully without inventing rules.
Does ShopSynq sync my Meta / Facebook catalogue?
ShopSynq supports Meta catalogue sync where the product offers it, so listings stay closer to what you sell online. Exact fields and limits depend on current product capability—check Features for what is live. Catalogue sync is not the same as marketplace sync to Amazon or Flipkart, and it does not replace your own store checkout.
Are Amazon, Flipkart and Meesho integrations live?
No. Amazon, Flipkart, and Meesho marketplace connections are under development—not live sync today. Plan inventory and orders around your own store and counter first. Do not expect marketplace live sync via WhatsApp or ShopSynq until those connectors ship. This FAQ will stay aligned with that roadmap language.
How does inventory work for online orders and counter bills?
One shared inventory is the goal: the same products and counts for online orders and counter bills, so “available” means the same thing in both places. That reduces wrong promises when a walk-in sale and a checkout compete for the same SKU. ShopSynq does not guarantee you will never oversell—process and timely billing still matter. See the inventory online and counter guide.
Does ShopSynq replace my accountant or file GST for me?
No. ShopSynq can support GST-aware billing fields so invoices carry the tax details you configure. That is not legal or tax advice, and ShopSynq does not file GST returns for you. Registration thresholds, returns, and notices belong with your CA or tax adviser. Use the product for clearer bills; use your accountant for compliance.
How does pricing work?
ShopSynq uses a plan subscription—see current tiers on /pricing. Payment gateways, shipping carriers, and similar providers charge their own fees where you connect them. Do not use invented monthly totals from blogs. Your net earnings after provider fees depend on those partners, not on a “keep 100%” claim from ShopSynq.
Can I use my own domain?
Yes—ShopSynq supports connecting your own domain for the storefront so customers open your brand URL rather than only a default subdomain. Setup steps and DNS details live in product help and Features documentation. A custom domain does not by itself bring traffic; it makes the store look and feel like your brand when you share links.
Will ShopSynq bring me customers?
No. ShopSynq does not guarantee customers or sales. It helps you run store, billing, stock, and attention so orders you already get are clearer to fulfil. Discovery still comes from Instagram, WhatsApp, ads, walk-ins, and word of mouth. Treat the OS as operations infrastructure—not a traffic promise.
How do I get started / what’s the first week checklist?
Week one: create your store, add best-seller products with photos and options, set stock counts, connect payment if you take online pay, and issue a test counter bill from the same catalogue. Share one store link on WhatsApp or Instagram. Skim Features and Pricing, then deepen with the WhatsApp, Instagram, inventory, and one-system guides as needed.
